Classes by groups 5 & 6💚.

 Hello everyone, welcome to this new entry!😊💚

A new week, a new class, and today was the turn of Jonathan's and Jessica's group👨🏻‍🏫👩🏻‍🏫.

The first group was Jonathan's. He started the class by doing a warm-up and his explanation. Honestly, it feels so nice to see Jonathan teaching, since this is not new for him; you can tell he feels really comfortable and is in his element👆🏼.



The whole group did an amazing job teaching the vocabulary and doing the different activities🤩. All along the different classes, I have noticed how some students take out their phones to take pictures of the presentations, and I really enjoy seeing that because it means that they care about the information❤️.


Next, it was the turn of Jessica's group! I really liked their matching shirts and the way they decided to organize the desks for the class👏🏼👏🏼.



They did a really fun warm-up, it was all about general culture. I really liked their class and the rapport they had with the students👌🏼. It is really nice to see how some of our classmates are really good at teaching, in my opinion, I can see Jessica being an English teacher for little kids!👀😊

Both of the groups did an amazing job this week🥳. Also, we were celebrating translator's and interpreter's week at the university which was a lot of fun!🤩 I will see you on the next entry for the rest of the groups.  Byeeeee👋🏻💛 (oh, and here's an extra picture we took with teacher Orlando!)

The Grammar Translation Method ✍🏼.

 Hello! Welcome back to my blog! 🌼✨ It is nice to know that you are here after getting to know a little bit about me! But here, we officially start our English Didactics journey, exciting!🤩 The first things we are learning about are the different types of language teaching methods, and to make this a little interesting, I will be telling you a little bit about the method, how we put it in practice in my class and maybe show you some pictures or videos here and there 👀.  The first method we are talking about is (as you guessed by the title),  The Grammar Translation Method (TGTM). This method is one of the two fundamental methods out there and it's considered traditional teaching. The GTM was proposed by Professor Karl Plotz around the 19th century, and it focuses more on reading and writing skills ✍🏼 📖. Total Physical Response 🕺🏻.

 Hello! It's been a few days since the last entry🤔 Welcome back!!! 🤩 🤩 Today I'm here to tell you a little bit about what we learned in class, and honestly, it's one of the most fun methods so far, and it's called  Total Physical Response (TPR).  🏃🏻‍♀️ This method was created by James Asher, and it consists of teaching language through physical activity because the more often a memory connection is traced, the stronger the memory association and the more likely it will be remembered🧠.  For this method, we can use different tools such as different songs and the principal idea, and the use of imperatives (short commands) to indicate what the student needs to do 🗣️ 🎶 . This method is very dynamic, so it can turn the classroom really loud, but honestly, I think it's worth it haha😉.
