Lesson Planning 📚.

 Hello everyone! Welcome 💗

So this week, we had to work from home on our lesson since the university was celebrating its 42nd anniversary🥳. Teacher Orlando gave us some material about the topic and we had to work on several activities.

The main topic for this week was... Lesson Planning!

We saw a video that the teacher told us to, and it was really interesting especially because sometimes we don't take into consideration all of the work that lesson planning involves😳

Planning a lesson can help you on having your objectives clear, know the materials you will need, and which activities can be more effective for your classroom✅.

On the other hand, if you don't take the time to plan your lesson, you will probably run out of ideas and will have a disorganized class. And the worse part is, that the students will totally notice this❌.

In lesson planning, there are two important aspects that can help us inside the classroom, CCQs and ICQs.

Now you might be wondering, what is that? Well, when we talk about CCQs we refer to Concept Checking Questions, and ICQs, Instruction Checking Questions.

  • Concept Checking Questions (CCQ): These are the question that we use as teachers to make sure that our students understood specific concepts. ex: “Do you understand?”, “Is that clear?” , or we can also ask questions about the topic so they can give us short answers to see if they understood.
  • Instruction Checking Questions (ICQ): These are questions we ask students to see if they have all of the given instructions clear. ex: “What are we going to do after we finish the activity?”
It was really interesting to know a little bit more about this🤓. Also, I had heard these questions before but I didn't know they had a specific name, so that was also really interesting to learn👀.

Thank you so much for reading my blog today, make sure to stick around for the next one. Byeeee 👋🏻💛.
