Describing Learners 🎓🎯.

Hello friends, welcome back to my blog!🥰😁

Today we have our last topic before our final exam of period 2. And just like the rest of the topics we've seen, this one is also very interesting. I am talking abouuut... Describing Learners🎓🎯.

When walking into a classroom you might notice that everyone is very different, this can be due to the way they look or how they dress👨🏻‍🦰👩🏾🧒🏻👱🏽‍♀️, but once you get to know everyone you will start to notice other differences such as their age, motivations, language level, etc.

When classifying learners by their age, we have the following groups:

Young Children: In this category, the understanding comes from what they see, hear, and from what they have the chance to touch and interact with🤹🏻‍♀️. This means that if you want to be a teacher for young children, you must be very active and dynamic!☝🏼 They need constant approval from the teacher, and their attention span is probably no longer than 10 minutes, so be aware!

Adolescents: They are usually very active and sometimes problematic😅, but if they find the purpose of the activity they will complete it successfully. They are very passionate and committed👀, once they get to know you and decide that they like you, they will for sure have your back.

Adults: They are able to engage with abstract thought and tend to be more disciplined🤓. They have a particular way of understanding and all the life experiences that they have had might help.

Teacher Orlando asked us the following: "If you were to be a teacher, what kind of learners would you like to have?" And even if being a teacher is not my very first option, it is something that I have considered because it seems really fun to me🤷🏻‍♀️, so I have definitely thought about this question before. And my answer is young children or adults. But adolescence is a big no for me!😅😬 But who knows... maybe one day all of this will change🤫.

Some of the Learner Differences can be:

  • Multiple Intelligences🧠.
  • Learning Styles👩🏻‍🎓.
  • Characteristics of good learners🧐.
And in the case of language students, they can be different according to their Language Level (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2)

So basically, everyone is different! No matter what class you teach, every class and student will be different and this is part of the magic of teaching. Everyone has their own unique goals and skills.

And this will be all for this period 2. I hope you enjoyed all of the topics as much as I did! This class honestly amazes me every time, and I even dare to say that it is my favorite one!🤫🤩 But anyways, I will see you around in a little while once we are done with our final exams, wish me luck! byeeee 👋🏻💛.
